Construction sequence before chart design
We analyse operations that must finish before other activities can begin. Depending on the project, we review dismantling, structural interventions, enclosure, installations, finishes and testing. Some activities can overlap; others require waiting periods or specific working conditions.
- Activities grouped by stages, assets or work categories.
- Durations, dependencies and milestones relevant to the contract.
- Seasonal conditions, temporary protection and technical waiting periods.
- Availability of personnel, machinery and materials.
Critical path, resources and staffing histograms
The critical path follows from activity durations and dependencies: delays to activities without float may affect the final deadline. We review resources against the volume and timing of the works. If a staffing histogram is required, it must be traceable to scheduled activities; a table of job roles alone does not explain how the team is distributed over time.
Value schedules and work phasing
The distribution of values must relate to scheduled works and cost estimates. We examine what is performed in each period, the resources involved and procurement conditions. A value schedule does not mean splitting the budget equally and does not replace contractual invoicing or payment terms.
Starting documents and deliverables
We need the required duration, design, bills of quantities, execution method and available resources. If the start date is unknown, the presentation is determined by the procedure’s requirements. We can also review an existing schedule and identify inconsistencies before submission.
- Execution schedule with activities and dependencies.
- Critical path and milestones where requested.
- Resource allocation and staffing histogram according to requirements.
- Value schedule aligned with works and cost estimates.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Gantt chart the same as the critical path?
No. A Gantt chart presents activities over time. The critical path is determined by their durations and dependencies and identifies what may affect the final deadline.
Can you check the logic of an existing schedule?
Yes. We need the existing schedule and project documents to review the proposed sequence, durations and resources.
